Gies Abdelmonim Ahamed Mohamed is appointed as Chairman & Co-Founder of the SECOTO Sports for Nature Museums – Road to 2030.

The SECOTO is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Gies Abdelmonim Ahamed Mohamed as Chairman of the Board and Co-Founder of the SECOTO Sports for Nature Museums, a landmark global initiative that aims to become the world’s leading destination where sport, nature, culture, innovation, diplomacy, and sustainability converge to inspire climate action. Mr. Gies has previously served as a philanthropist and director general of SECOTO International Sports Events, where he was entrusted with leading the organization’s international operations and advancing the Continental Green Cups and the World Green Cup vision. As Chairman of the Board, Mr. Gies will provide strategic leadership for the development and implementation of the SECOTO Sports for Nature Museums’ Road to 2030, guiding the project from concept to international recognition.

He will help establish the museum as a permanent global platform connecting more than 197+ nations through environmental conservation, sports, education, innovation, and international cooperation.

ROAD TO 2030 MANDATE

SECOTO has entrusted Mr. Gies with leading the museum’s strategic development through 2030, with responsibilities including the following:

  • Providing strategic leadership and governance for the SECOTO Sports for Nature museums.
  • Leading the international development roadmap from concept to implementation.
  • Building partnerships with governments, international organizations, museums, universities, development agencies, and the private sector.
  • Supporting fundraising, sponsorship, and investment mobilization for the museum campus and its pavilions.
  • Promoting the museum as a global center for sports for nature, climate action, innovation, and sustainable development.
  • Supervising the development of the museum masterplan, architectural design, exhibition concepts, and long-term operational strategy.
  • Establishing an international Board of Advisors and strengthening institutional governance.
  • Representing the museum at global forums, investment conferences, diplomatic meetings, and international exhibitions.
  • Supporting the development of permanent country pavilions, thematic exhibition spaces, and strategic partnerships.
  • Guiding preparations for the official diplomatic, commercial, and social launch phases leading to 2030.

Vision for 2030

Under the leadership of the chairman and the SECOTO Board, the SECOTO Sports for Nature Museums aim to become:

  • The global home of the Sports for Nature movement.
  • A destination representing more than 197 nations.
  • A world-class platform for sports, climate action, innovation, culture, and diplomacy.
